Editorial Policy & Ethics
At Varta Brief, we are committed to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, objectivity, and accuracy. Our mission is to bring you the stories that matter with depth and clarity, uncompromised by bias or external influence.
1. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
We strive to be accurate in everything we publish. We verify facts, cross-reference multiple sources, and ensure that our reporting is based on evidence. If we make a mistake, we acknowledge it and correct it promptly.
2. Corrections Policy
Transparency is fundamental to our trust with readers. When errors in our reporting are identified, we will update the article and append a correction notice at the bottom of the page detailing what was changed and why. If a story is fundamentally flawed, we will issue a retraction.
3. Independence and Objectivity
Our editorial decisions are made independently of our advertisers, sponsors, and political interests. We do not accept payment in exchange for news coverage. Any sponsored content or advertorials will be clearly marked as such, distinct from our independent journalism.
4. Sourcing and Attribution
We aim to use on-the-record sources whenever possible. We grant anonymity only when sources face potential danger, retribution, or when they are the sole source of vital information. We will explain to our readers why a source was granted anonymity. We do not plagiarize, and we give proper attribution to other news organizations when we use their reporting.
5. Conflict of Interest
Our journalists must avoid conflicts of interest or the appearance of such conflicts. They are prohibited from reporting on subjects in which they have a personal or financial stake. Gifts, favors, or special treatment from news sources are strictly forbidden.
